Luke was referred to Catapult Employment Services for assistance in finding work. He impressed them with his empathy and ability to relate to people and was offered a position as a trainee Employment Consultant. In 2015 he won the New Zealand Disability Support Network’s  award for Excellence in Supported Employment Practice. (Iwi – Te Arawa, hapu – Ngati Rangitihi).
